and changes.

i had a nice lazy day today. i went to barnes and noble and stocked up on magazines (vogue paris, russh, elle uk, and british vogue), got a green tea frappe, and just drove around in the rain. i'm so looking forward to snuggling up with a magazine and a blanket later; it's rather nasty outside.
i had to go to a party store a few days ago and got these great costume glasses. i feel like a badass superhero in them, even if they're glitter and $5 plastic. i'm still thinking about how to venture outside the house with them.
today i wore an american apparel gray hoodie, long vintage university of alabama tshirt, shorts, white high-top converse, my double finger ring, mustache ring, and my tiki man ring. unfortuanately i don't have any pictures because i looked like i got caught in a downpour. which i did.
the blog will be going through some changes soon. i'm not happy with the header, the post title font, the size of the pictures, the whole general thing. right now its in transition; i'll probably end up scrapping most of it and starting over.

this time baby i'll be bulletproof.

a good man is hard to find.

i've gone downtown the past two weekends. its one of my favorite places; absolutely gorgeous.
two weekends ago i took scarlett to get some ice cream. she ate my cone for me and had a chocolate face the rest of the night.

last week i visited my favorite store downtown, the clothing wearhouse. its an awesome vintage and secondhand store with a wall of tshirts and the white stripes playing on rotation. i scored these babies on my trip.

i've got the midas touch.

no parking on the dance floor.

this woman is totally creeping on that guy.

against the wall, retro physical.

so my computer has decided to have a mid-life crisis. even though its rather old, so i guess an end-of-life crisis? hm. either way, i'm getting a new laptop soon, and i'm making sure that said laptop has photoshop and adobe illustrator. none of the images i post of myself are edited, because my dad has photoshop on his laptop, but that thing's grouchy too and doesn't like when i upload pictures. to add on to the utter lameness, my camera's a pain in the ass as well, which is another reason i don't often post pictures of myself. or the pictures come out pretty shitty. how exciting. new camera is graduation present number two.

because i'm just THIS GOOD, i also rarely credit the pictures i post. way to go. i go on photo binges where i scroll through blogs and tumblrs and save everything that catches my eye into one big folder. i always forget to note where each picture's from while i'm distracted by the pretty things, so if i post a photo of yours without credit and you want it, let me know.

witch boots.

pictures from break. amber and i on the roof; boots: urban outfitters; thrifted tshirt: rag-o-rama, atlanta; my gorgeous dog, scarlett, wanted on the roof with us.

hello one and all (whoever you are). quick update post, i took a sleeping pill and its kicking in. i'm back from break, and it was wonderful but far too short. school was painful today, especially with the insane amount of pollen in the air here. everything has turned yellow, and sneezing, headaches, and watery eyes are ever so fun. oh how i LOVE allergies.

regular posting beginning tomorrow, finally. i spent the last few days of break browsing various tumblrs and reading a shit ton of magazines. i think i've found some inspiration again.

love love love.

violence is glamour.

this week:
black, ripped tights, ugly boots, two finger rings, procrastination, semi precious weapons, hummus, green tea frappes, new shades, gray tshirts.

mind blown.

"trust is like a mirror. you can fix it if it's broken, but you can still see the crack in that motherfucker's reflection."

telephone was beyond.

crackwhores and florida state

so i have a shirt. its old and worn and makes my friend laugh with how ugly it is; this obviously makes it a favorite. its my florida state shirt, and when i stumbled across the picture above today, i was reminded of just how much i love mine.

my uncle went to florida state in the eighties. somehow my mom ended up with his shirt, and then twenty-or-so years later i got my hands on it. its just perfect, for lack of a better word. oversized, thick navy cotton, that soft feel that only comes from years of constant wear, the colors, the massive indian head, the holes lining the hem and sleeves. i live in this shirt.

i just scored another find a few weeks ago. i was helping mom organize her closet and discovered this baby:

team florida state surfing, another treasure from the eighties. huge indian surfer surrounded by acid pink? success.

on an entirely unrelated note, we had another bout of snow two days ago; this seems to be a record for south carolina. it came down in huge flakes for several hours, but unfortunately the ground was too warm for it to stick, leaving everything a big slushy mess. however, my friend callie and i were undeterred from taking obnoxious photos--my favorite past-time.

the challenge of the day was "crackwhore." i dug out my old dance makeup (glitter! shockingly tacky blush! bloodred lip pencils!) and we attempted to make each other over in the crackwhoriest fashion possible. however, we ended up looking like sad melting clowns, maybe with a bit of crack, but no matter. with our faces made and horrible sweats on (though i do believe the florida state shirt was present this day), we trekked throughout the house and the mess outside to take horrible pictures for our (and yours, now) amusement.

the lovely callie. wearing: hair in crappy bun, flower pin, dance necklace from years ago, black smudgy "cat eye," pink blush, red lips.

i'm working a similar look, but with eyeshadow "flames," and small red lips. and my bathroom. what photo skillzz.

such a cute grandma.

i don't really know what this was.
